I'm happy to say that I have fully completed my senior thesis project with A LOT of full days of working (usually from 10am to 10pm). I took a bunch of time off of other classes / assignments to finish this project with my grades suffering a bit, but it was all worth it to be able to create work that I am proud of.
The most that has changed from the last progress check is just me adding more detail and shading to the painting. I want the pieces to be shown next to each other with the stalker piece on the left and the woman piece on the right so that when together they create a "V" composition. When I began this project I hadn't even thought about how I would display these pieces but in one of my prior blog posts it was suggested that I display them in the way mentioned prior. I liked those suggestions and decided to go with them.

These pieces came out almost exactly how I expected them to with the exception of a not being able to make the oil painted parts as detailed as I wanted. I also had to make the acrylic painted parts more graphic instead of realistic due to time constraints BUT I do think that it actually helped more with the concept. The giant acrylic eye framing the woman in the woman painting is meant to be what the stalker perceives aka not real. The graphic shading drives in the point that what the stalker sees is all in his head. Oddly enough, the part of these paintings that I am most proud of IS the giant acrylic eye. I'm not the best with harsh cel shading so I'm quite happy that I was able to pull it off decently. I'm also happy that I was able to show that I can do multiple different styles with these pieces.

I really love how this artist incorporates realism and cartoonish exaggeration in her work. It's a huge inspiration for me, especially the way she draws woman! I don't really have much else to say other than I really like her work and want to incorporate her style into my work.

I can tell this took a stupid amount of work and I don't even know where to begin talking about this thing. This is super well-done from the rendering to the colors, composition and proportions, these paintings are insane. Before I saw the final piece, I sort of expected you to keep a flat blue-ish color for the stalker which wouldn't have been terrible for the color composition you had at the time, but it's much more "you" to totally go ham in rendering that bad boy out with some nice lighting. The changing color with the woman corresponding with the eye's colors creates a really interesting composition and contrast between the two as well. The only super minor thing…
